Are you getting this error in Joomla on Easyspace while installing components?

JFolder::create: Could not create directory
Warning! Failed to move file.

Easyspace have had some recent issues with the loads on their servers, and I think they have moved some sites over from one hosting server to another.

The result is that Joomla now has the wrong folders listed for TEMP and LOG.

Its pretty simple to check and correct if need be:
Log in to the administrator section of your site
Click on Help - then System Info or for newer versions of Joomla post 1.6, Site - System Information.
Now Directory Permissions, and scroll to the bottom, the last two listed are the TMP and LOG paths, if they have Unwritable in red, they need fixing.

So if you are still reading, then it needs fixing - look at the two lines above it and compare the non-bold part. Chances are that the one above differs slightly - mine said /vhost/vhost9/...(and then the unique path for your site) above and /vhost/vhost8/... below. This is because the site used to be hosted on /vhost/vhost8/... but it was moved.

The fix is simple, remember what lines from above stated and go to Site / Global Configurations / System and on the second line down 'Path to folder' - correct this one to state /vhost/vhost9/... or whatever yours said.
Next go to Server at the top and fill out the same /vhost/vhost9/... on the 'Path to Temp-folder'

To confirm it is now set up right, go back to Help / System Info / Directory Permissions and check they are all green now.

If they are, try installing something again - good luck!

The rule to backing up your data on a professional level, is that you should have three backups of your critical data, one on-site, and two offsite at different locations. In reality, most people dont even have a backup on-site, and this might just be a hassle free solution to those! And as a bonus, you can view you files on any other internet ready device via thier website or purpose made apps!
