Photography has been my passion ever since I got my first Sony Mavica digital camera many years ago. My love for computers meant I didn’t need the experience of playing in a Dark Room; instead, I started out with the bulky Sony camera, along with the floppy disks required for storage! My cameras and my experience have moved on considerably over the years, and now my camera of choice is the Nikon D300. My kit includes the Nikon AF-S 17-55mm 1:2.8 G ED DX format SilentWaveMotor ED IF Aspherical lens, the Nikon ED AF-S VR 70-200mm 1:2.8 G SilentWaveMotor ED IF lens, plus a 2x Teleplus Macro converter with a manual 28mm 1:2.8 lens for Super-Macro photography. Plus all the other usual kit, battery packs, grips, flashes and the like.
Like most photographers, I started out shooting pictures for entertainment and ended up doing something I really enjoy for money. A high percentage of my paid work involves fine paintings, artwork and sculptures for use in prints, magazines and website production. Being able to also shoot products for the websites I create offers a great bonus.
