Easyspace Push Email settings for iPhone on iOS4

If you use Easyspace as your hosting company, you can set up your iPhone, iPod and iPad to receive email notifications as soon as you get mail. This feature is called 'Push' email. Standard email settings for POP or IMAP accounts require you iDevice to make periodic checks to discover new emails, but with PUSH Notifications enabled, your device does not have to constantly use Power and Data allowance, but instead has the notification pushed direct to you, within seconds of receipt of a new email.

To set up PUSH email, you need to go to 'Settings', 'Mail, Contacts, Calendars' and then 'Add Account...'

Add New Account

Select 'Microsoft Exchange'

Select Microsoft Exchange

Enter your full email address, your Domain, the user name is also your full email address, and then your password and a description for the email account.

Enter Email Settings for your Account

The device will now try to figure out the rest of the settings, and fail, and then ask you what the server is; and the setting you need to enter is 'webmail.easyspace.com' and then press Next.

Server Name settings

Enable Mail and Contacts, but at the moment, Easyspace advise that the Calendars are not as yet working.

Further things to check:

Go to 'Settings', 'Notifications' and make sure that 'Notifications' is set to 'ON'.

Notifications Settings for PUSH email

Go to 'Settings', 'Mail, Contacts, Calendars', 'Fetch New Data' and set 'Push' to 'ON'.
If you have other email accounts using the POP format, set Fetch to your desired setting. For longer battery life and less data usage, set to Hourly.

Enable PUSH delivery in Accounts

Send  yourself a test and see if you get an instant notification!
If you are having problems receiving emails, you can go to the appStore and download 'iPush Test' - a free app that tests if your PUSH feature is working correctly.

It does look like these settings no longer work, same as IMAP settings.
As neither work I have contacted Easyspace, as especially the IMAP service as listed many times on their support site. Will post as soon as I know anything!

Do these settings still work?
They don't seem to work anymore for me.
Anybody else experiencing problems?

Great tip - has solved my problems on iPhone and iPad (message not downloaded etc.) and the push is great.

Can you also hook into EasySpace Exchange from a Mac? I have tried, but it doesn't want to play...

Thanks again for the post.

Thanks for this! I find that the web browser version of the easyspace email fails to load up quite often so having it pushed to my phone is very useful when needing to reply quickly to clients. Thanks again.
